On 14 September Cremona\u2019s long-awaited Museo del Violino finally opens its doors. This map, made at the time of Andrea Amati\u2019s death, gives a vivid impression of the streets and layout of the city, most of which remained unchanged until long after Stradivari died. All the great Cremonese makers lived at one time or another in the central part of the city.
