A remarkably preserved violin by the most popular non-Italian maker of his day, and one of the few Classical violins that has never been converted to modern playing specifications. No similar violin is known to exist from the ‘accepted’ Cremonese school. Remarkably, after more than 300 years, it retains its original, unaltered fingerboard and bass-bar. Includes measurements
